應學院邀請，澳大利亞科學院院士Yihong Du教授将來我院作學術報告。
報告題目：Rate of accelerated expansion of the epidemic region in a nonlocal epidemic model with free boundaries
報告摘要：I will discuss the long-time dynamics of an epidemic model whose diffusion and reaction terms involve nonlocal effects described by suitable convolution operators, and the epidemic region is represented by an evolving interval enclosed by the free boundaries in the model. In particular, we will show how a threshold condition determines the onset of accelerated spreading, and for some typical classes of kernel functions, we determine the precise rate of accelerated expansion of the epidemic region by constructing delicate upper and lower solutions. The talk is based on joint work with Dr Wenjie Ni and Dr Rong Wang.

報告人簡介
Yihong Du教授，澳大利亞科學院院士，1988年獲得博士學位，1991年至今在澳大利亞新英格蘭大學工作，現為該校數學系教授。Yihong Du教授是非線性泛函分析、偏微分方程及其應用等領域的國際知名專家，是使用非線性自由邊界問題對擴散現象進行建模的先驅，解決了長期存在的尖銳阈值，邊界爆破，分岔和多解個數問題。在Arch. Rational Mech. Anal., SIAM J. Math. Anal., J. Funct. Anal., J. European Math. Soc., Trans. Amer. Math. Soc., J. Differ. Equations, Calc. Var. Partial Differ. Equ., J. Math. Pures Appl. 等國際知名期刊上發表論文170餘篇（被引5300餘次），并出版專著1部。自2003年持續獲得澳大利亞國家自然科學基金的資助。目前，擔任多個國際期刊雜志的編委。
